SEATTLE, WA – Seattle-based provider of global online English language services Lana Learn announces its CEO Tina Tran Neville will represent Seattle at the Women’s Entrepreneurship Roundtable, hosted by the newly created bipartisan U.S. Senate Entrepreneurship Caucus in Washington, DC on September 23. Create33, a founder center for technology startups in Seattle, is sponsoring Neville’s participation.

Tina Tran Neville, a former U.S. diplomat and educator will join a group of female entrepreneurs from around the country for the roundtable discussion co-hosted by Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and Senator Tim Scott (R-SC). Neville has founded three businesses and was recently named Puget Sound Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Business Leader.

The Senate Entrepreneurship Caucus launched in March 2019 with the goal of addressing “the most pressing issues facing entrepreneurs and serve as a forum for collaboration and coordination,” according to a press release.

“I am truly honored to represent Seattle startups at this important event,” said Tina Tran Neville. “As the daughter of Vietnamese refugees-turned-entrepreneurs and now an entrepreneur myself, I have witnessed first-hand the power women and immigrants have as contributors to the overall economy.”

A recent study by the Center for American Entrepreneurship, which is sponsoring the bipartisan roundtable, found that only 2.5 percent of venture capital went to companies with all-female founders.

The roundtable will provide an opportunity for women entrepreneurs to share ideas and propose solutions to policymakers on how to support and encourage women-owned businesses.

“We’re thrilled that Tina will participate in this unique and important event,” said John Dearie, president of the Center for American Entrepreneurship. “Our hope is that the Women’s Entrepreneurship Roundtable, hosted by the newly established Senate Entrepreneurship Caucus, will be an important first step toward understanding and addressing the unique challenges and barriers that confront women entrepreneurs in America.”
